Seven CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region hospitals were recently recognized by U.S. News & World Report in its “Best Hospital” rankings for 2026-2027.
U.S. News & World Report’s annual "Best Hospitals" rankings evaluate how well U.S. adult hospitals provide 37 different types of care, identifying those that excel at handling even the most complex and difficult cases. A "High Performing" designation is the highest possible rating for a specific procedure or condition, typically earned by only 15% to 30% of the hospitals evaluated.
The following Mountain Region hospitals have earned “High Performing” designations:
- Penrose Hospital: Pacemaker Implantation, Prostate Cancer Surgery, Ear Nose & Throat Surgery, Leukemia, Lymphoma & Myeloma, Heart Attack,and Pneumonia
- St. Anthony Hospital: Heart Bypass Surgery, Lung Cancer Surgery, Leukemia, Lymphoma & Myeloma, and Heart Attack
- Mercy Hospital: Back Surgery (Spinal Fusion), Pacemaker Implantation, and Heart Attack
- St. Anthony North Hospital: Heart Attack, Diabetes, and Pneumonia
- OrthoColorado Hospital: Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement, and Back Surgery (Spinal Fusion)
- Holy Cross Hospital - Salt Lake: Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery
- Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley: Heart Attack

More than half of CommonSpirit Health’s eligible full-service acute care hospitals were recognized in the annual hospital rankings, affirming the system’s commitment to high-quality care across its 24-state footprint. CommonSpirit received 288 high performing ratings in total.
