About Andrea Holland, MD

Andrea Holland, MD, is a board-certified Primary Care and Sports Medicine physician providing expert care in the Denver area. Dr. Holland's unique background encompasses a wide range of medical experience, from serving as a primary care physician to providing on-field medical care for professional sports teams and treating acute illnesses and injuries in urgent care. This diverse experience allows her to provide comprehensive and effective care for patients of all ages and activity levels.

Dr. Holland specializes in advanced diagnostic and treatment options for musculoskeletal pain and sports-related injuries. Using state-of-the-art musculoskeletal ultrasound, she accurately diagnoses the source of pain and guides precise, effective treatments for conditions such as tendonitis, bursitis, ligament sprains and tears, muscle strains, joint effusions (fluid buildup), nerve entrapment, and more. She offers a variety of injection therapies, including steroid injections, gel injections (viscosupplementation), prolotherapy, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, all conveniently performed in an outpatient office setting.

Her expertise covers the full spectrum of sports medicine care, from managing fractures and dislocations, to treating concussions, to addressing hematomas and ingrown toenails. Whether you're an athlete, a weekend warrior, or simply experiencing pain, Dr. Holland can help you get back to your active lifestyle.

Dr. Holland is passionate about helping patients improve their performance in both athletics and everyday life. She enjoys the intersection of primary care and sports medicine, providing comprehensive care for athletes dealing with medical issues related to their activities, such as endurance runners with asthma, football players with concussions, or wrestlers with skin conditions. She is committed to providing personalized care tailored to each patient's individual needs and goals.

Dr. Holland earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, before completing medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center. She completed her residency and internship in Family Medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in sports medicine at Duke University Sports Sciences Institute.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Holland is actively involved in the Denver sports community. She has been the team physician for local college and high school sports teams, and currently serves as the Primary Care Physician for the Denver Broncos. She has also provided medical coverage at several local rodeos. When she's not working, Dr. Holland enjoys spending time with her daughter, exercising, traveling, riding horses, and exploring the Denver area.
