St. Francis Hospital – Interquest’s Emergency Department is part of a Level IV-designated trauma center that provides 24/7 care for northern Colorado Springs and the surrounding region. In addition, our Flight for Life® helicopter base provides emergency air medical transport to patients with the most critical care needs.

At St. Francis Hospital - Interquest, our providers deliver expert care to treat a variety of emergency medical injuries and concerns. As a Level IV trauma center, we are equipped to care for a range of trauma patients, providing on-site stabilization and treatment as well as preparing patients for transfer when necessary.
Level IV Trauma Center capabilities:
- 24/7 readiness, including the specialized equipment, resources and caregivers needed for comprehensive advanced trauma life support
- Nurses and physicians who specialize in trauma resuscitation
- Coordinated transfers to ensure seamless transitions to higher-level trauma centers
- Comprehensive support services, including laboratory, blood bank, radiology and surgical care
Our Emergency Department diagnoses include, but are not limited to:
- Chest pain
- Sudden weakness or trouble talking
- Difficulty breathing
- Spinal injuries
- Severe head injuries
- Major broken bones
- Major burns
- Sudden change in vision
- Heavy bleeding
- Large open wounds
