Menopause Management Program

CommonSpirit Obstetrics & Gynecology Longmont

Menopause Management Program

Perimenopause and menopause are significant but often underestimated stages in a woman's life. You shouldn't have to navigate challenging symptoms or important health decisions alone.

At CommonSpirit Obstetrics & Gynecology Longmont, we’ve created a comprehensive Menopause Management Program that offers personalized, evidence-based care to help you manage symptoms, optimize your health, and thrive through perimenopause and menopause.

Our team of experts are committed to helping you understand your body's changes, effectively manage your symptoms, and empower you to live your healthiest, most vibrant life. We believe in truly individualized care, connecting you with the right specialists who are knowledgeable and passionate about women's midlife health.

Is the Menopause Management Program Right For You?

We proudly serve women in perimenopause and menopause, typically ranging from their late 30s through their 50s and beyond. Whether you're just starting to notice subtle changes or are intensely experiencing menopausal symptoms, we are here to help.

Ready to take control of your menopause journey? Contact our office today to schedule your appointment!

We encourage you to establish care with our Menopause Management Program as soon as you begin to notice symptoms of perimenopause or menopause. These can include:

  • Hot flashes and night sweats (vasomotor symptoms)
  • Irregular periods or cessation of periods
  • Mood changes (irritability, anxiety, depression)
  • Difficulty sleeping (insomnia)
  • Vaginal dryness and painful intercourse
  • Joint pain
  • Decreased libido (sex drive)
  • Brain fog or difficulty concentrating (often related to sleep or hormones)

These symptoms most commonly appear between the ages of 40 and 50, but some women may experience them earlier, even in their 30s. Proactive management can significantly improve your quality of life.

Self-Referral: You can often self-refer directly to our collaborating OB/GYN or Primary Care Provider (PCP) clinics by simply calling their offices. Many insurance plans do not require a referral for these initial consultations.

PCP or OB/GYN Referral: Your current primary care physician or OB/GYN can easily refer you to our Menopause Management Program.

Specialist Referrals: If you are already seeing a specialist within our network (e.g., for breast health, cardiology, or urology), they may refer you to our clinic for comprehensive menopause management, just as we may refer you to them for specialized care.

Our Menopause Management Program focuses on the holistic management of perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms, including:

  • Alleviating hot flashes and night sweats
  • Managing irregular bleeding and period cessation
  • Addressing mood fluctuations, anxiety, and depression
  • Improving sleep disturbances and insomnia
  • Treating vaginal dryness, atrophy, and painful intercourse
  • Reducing joint pain
  • Enhancing libido
  • Hormone-related cognitive changes (brain fog)

Beyond direct symptom management, our collaborative model ensures that any related health concerns are expertly addressed. While our primary focus is on hormonal and lifestyle interventions, we seamlessly connect you with specialists who are also informed and interested in menopause care for conditions such as:

  • Urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse (via Urology & Physical Therapy)
  • Pelvic pain (via Physical Therapy)
  • Bone health (osteoporosis prevention/management)
  • Cardiovascular health
  • Breast health and cancer risk assessment
  • Mental health support (anxiety, depression, mood disorders)
  • Weight management
  • Coagulation disorders and complex medical histories

We offer a full spectrum of treatment options tailored to your unique needs, health history, and preferences:

  • Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT): Including estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone options, carefully evaluated for safety and efficacy.
  • Non-Hormonal Treatments: Medications and lifestyle interventions to manage specific symptoms like hot flashes, sleep disturbances, and mood changes.
  • Lifestyle Counseling: Nutrition, exercise, stress management, and sexual health guidance.
  • Seamless Referrals & Coordinated Care: For needs beyond our immediate scope, we connect you with trusted, menopause-informed specialists across various disciplines:
    • Pelvic Physical Therapy
    • Urology
    • Hematology/Oncology
    • Weight Management
    • Breast Medicine
    • Cardiology
    • Acupuncture
    • Behavioral Health/Psychology
    • … and more, all part of our integrated network dedicated to your well-being

When you choose our Menopause Management Program, you embark on a personalized journey designed to optimize your health and well-being:

  • Initial Evaluation: You'll start with an in-depth consultation with one of our expert OB/GYN or PCP providers. They will listen to your concerns, review your medical history, and conduct a thorough examination.
  • Personalized Assessment: Based on your individual needs and symptoms, we'll develop a tailored treatment plan that may include hormonal, non-hormonal, and lifestyle interventions.
  • Expert Referrals (When Needed): If additional specialized care is beneficial, we will seamlessly connect you with other menopause-informed experts within our extensive network – whether it's for urology, physical therapy, breast care, or mental health support.
  • Ongoing Collaboration: Our providers regularly collaborate on patient care, ensuring that all aspects of your health are considered, and your journey is as smooth and effective as possible. We are dedicated to creating a comprehensive "care network" where every specialist understands and supports your midlife health goals.
