The da Vinci 5 robotic surgery system is the newest and most advanced of its kind. Using da Vinci 5, surgeons at St. Francis Hospital can perform bariatric surgeries, hysterectomies, prostate surgeries, colorectal surgeries, and hernia surgeries.
For our patients, robot-assisted surgery using the da Vinci 5 offers numerous advantages, including significantly less pain, reduced blood loss, and minimal scarring. The da Vinci 5 robot is controlled by our specially trained surgeons from a nearby control center in the operating room. The da Vinci 5 features multiple robotic arms capable of precise maneuvers and rotations that surpass the natural ability of the human hand. Furthermore, the robot system’s cameras provide surgeons with real-time 3D imaging that is magnified 10 times what the human eye can see.
