Private and spacious suites for labor, delivery and recovery are designed to support you and your newborn. Comfort features include adjustable beds, jetted tubs and reclining sleepers for your coach. Each suite is also fully equipped to help ensure safe delivery and outstanding medical care for the first hours of your child’s life.
If you require a cesarean section, we have dedicated surgical suites so you will be able to deliver your baby in an operating room located right in our maternity unit.
After your baby is born and you’ve had time to recover, you can enjoy another private room where nurses with specialized training will care for you and your baby. We also encourage mother baby couplet care, where mothers keep their babies in their rooms, giving families time to bond and helping new parents learn to care for their infant with professional assistance.
Our Level III NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) provides a higher level of care for babies who need special medical treatment. The highly trained and experienced nurses in our 16-bed NICU are committed to an exceptional standard of care for pre-term infants and babies with special needs. The NICU is open to parents only. The nursery is open for viewing babies but may occasionally close at certain times throughout the day for special procedures. Children under 18 are not permitted to visit. Please do not visit if you have a cold or fever or have recently been exposed to a contagious disease.
We welcome patients who prefer natural childbirth and provide wireless fetal monitoring. This technology is mobile, waterproof and allows free movement and a variety of positions for moms during labor. We believe you should choose what’s right for you and your baby.
We offer lactation assistance for mothers who choose to breastfeed. All our nurses are trained in lactation and can help you learn the best techniques for feeding your baby and how to be sure your baby is getting enough milk.

Holy Cross Hospital – Davis offers education to help you get ready for the arrival of your new baby, including classes for childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, infant first aid, CPR and more.
Our comprehensive infant security plan is designed to protect our tiniest patients and to help ensure they stay safe in the hospital. In addition to other security measures, we use a high-tech electronic surveillance system to keep track of each baby. Following the delivery of your baby, we place a small monitoring band around your baby’s ankle, where it remains until you are discharged.
The band, which is completely safe, transmits an electronic signal to a nursing station and alerts nurses if a baby ever moves too close to a birth center exit. This band also provides reliable location-tracking and monitoring throughout the entire hospital. Breastfeeding Class: Learn successful nurturing techniques from a certified lactation counselor. We cover latching, positioning, milk supply, and troubleshooting, giving you the confidence to begin your breastfeeding journey.
Childbirth Preparation: Led by an RN, this class covers birthing options, pain management, interventions, and coping strategies. Includes a Women's Center tour. Empower yourselves for delivery and postpartum.
Baby Basics Class: Led by RNs and Physicians, our Baby Basics class empowers expectant parents. Learn essential skills like soothing, understanding baby cues and feeding, normal newborn behavior, identifying concerns, and creating a safe environment.
