About Preeya Prakash, MD

Preeya Prakash, MD, is a general cardiologist at CommonSpirit St. Elizabeth Hospital. She believes the patient-physician relationship is built on trust, compassion, and open communication. Her extensive experience in caring for diverse patients has enriched her approach to medicine. As your cardiologist, Dr. Prakash is dedicated to providing the best guideline-based care and guiding you through your medical journey toward improved health and quality of life.

Dr. Prakash earned her bachelor’s degree in Neurosciences from the University of Southern California and her Doctorate of Medicine from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency and general cardiology fellowship at the Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University. She is board certified in echocardiography.

Outside of work, Dr. Prakash enjoys exploring diverse cuisines through cooking, and values travel as an opportunity for personal growth and cultural understanding. She is also an avid hiker and skier.
