About Michael Shen, MD

Originally from Colorado, Dr. Shen has always considered southern Denver his home. Growing up and going to Homestead Elementary, West Middle, and then Cherry Creek High, Dr. Shen never left Colorado until he sought his undergraduate work at the University of California at San Diego. There he obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Molecular Biology. he attended medical school at Tufts University in Boston.It wasn't until medical school that Dr. Shen found his interest and calling in Orthopedics. Once dedicated towards becoming an orthopedist, he sought further training at some of the most prestigious orthopedics and spine programs in the United States. He completed his orthopedics residency at New York University (NYU)/Hospital for Joint Disease in New York City and continued his education in spine surgery completing his spine fellowship at the Spine Institute at Saint John's Health Center in Los Angeles.After traveling from coast to coast, Dr. Shen returned to Colorado where he practiced for almost four years in northwest Denver before finally returning home to Southern Denver once again and to serve the community in which he himself grew up by joining Advanced Orthopedics. He enjoys spending time outdoors and with his family
