About Katherine Higgins, DO Resident
Katherine Higgins, DO, is a Family Medicine physician at St. Anthony North Family Medicine Orchard. She believes in meeting patients where they are with empathy, respect, and zero judgment. Dr. Higgins sees herself as her patients’ biggest cheerleader — there to listen, advocate, and help them feel empowered in their health journey. Whether navigating a new diagnosis or celebrating a small win, she wants every patient to feel truly seen and supported.
Dr. Higgins earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado - Boulder, where she studied Integrative Physiology and Creative Writing. She went on to earn her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she served as president of the Arts and Culture in Medicine Club and discovered the power of creativity in healing. She is currently completing her Family Medicine residency at St. Anthony North Hospital. Her path in medicine has been shaped by a passion for teaching, a commitment to service, and a belief in the value of whole-person care that honors both body and spirit.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Higgins enjoys writing poetry and children’s stories. She is happiest when playing team sports like pickup volleyball or being out in nature, birdwatching and soaking up the outdoors. She also has a deep appreciation for art and music, and she loves spending time at museums or catching live concerts with friends. When she travels, she finds joy in discovering new restaurants and connecting with different cultures through their food and stories.
