John Ryan, MD

John Ryan, MD, is a cardiologist at CommonSpirit Cardiology Salt Lake. He believes trust and open communication are key to creating strong partnerships with patients. By placing honesty and respect at the forefront, he takes the time to understand each patient’s unique goals, ensuring personalized, compassionate care every step of the way.

Dr. Ryan earned his medical degree from University College Cork. He then completed his residency at Boston University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He continued his training with a fellowship at the University of Chicago, also serving as Chief Fellow, before going on to serve as a Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Ryan stays energized through running and skiing, and enjoys expressing his creativity through music and writing.
