Insurance Coverage

On behalf of our patients, CommonSpirit Health is pleased to work with most major insurance companies

If you are covered by health insurance, please contact your health insurer to understand your financial responsibility for any health care service delivered by a CommonSpirit Health provider.

CommonSpirit accepts and bills most major insurance companies. However, some benefit plans do not cover treatment at some CommonSpirit Health locations. Please contact your insurance company directly if you have any questions about your coverage at a CommonSpirit Health location. If your insurance company does not include CommonSpirit Health as a participating provider, you may be billed for non-covered charges or be responsible for reduced benefits.

When you come for care, please bring your insurance identification card. It contains important information we need to file a claim with your insurance on your behalf.

Below is a list of major insurance carriers accepted by CommonSpirit Health. It is sorted by Mountain Region states (Colorado, Kansas, Utah) and plan type.* Please use the website listed below, or the phone number listed on the back of your insurance identification card, to contact your insurance company.

*CommonSpirit is not responsible for the accuracy of the website information listed below. Please consult your insurance benefit plan documents. The list below of contract major payers is current as of: March 2026

CommonSpirit Health works with Medicare and Medicaid

CommonSpirit accepts Original Medicare and Medicaid. When you arrive for care, please provide your Medicare or Medicaid insurance card as well as your personal ID.

Your Medicaid and Medicare coverage will be verified, and you will be expected to pay your portion, if any, at the time of service. This includes copays, deductibles, and/or coinsurance.

If you have a Medicare supplemental insurance plan, please provide that plan’s ID card at the time of your visit.

Medicare requires we check the diagnosis by the ordering physician to ensure that Medicare covers the specific tests or procedures.

Medicare has the right to not pay for tests, services and procedures it believes are not required to address the diagnosis.

Understanding insurance lingo

We recognize how difficult it is to understand all of the lingo you hear regarding your insurance. Should you have questions specific to your insurance coverage, please contact your health insurance company.

CommonSpirit makes every effort to simplify the billing process

CommonSpirit requires that payment be made at the time of service for any amount not covered by insurance. Insurance deductibles and co-payments are due at the time of service. For those without insurance, the total estimated hospital bill less any initial deposits made is due upon discharge. If you are unable to make the full payment at discharge, you can ask to see a financial counselor who can review alternate payment options with you, including a payment plan.

If you have questions about your bill, contact us:
