About Aaron Baxter, MD
Dr. Aaron Baxter, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Longmont United Hospital, specializing in adult reconstruction and arthroplastic repairs of the hip and knee. His care philosophy centers on providing excellent medical care through effective communication, meeting patients where they are by speaking clearly and simply, and using common language. He believes each patient is unique and approaches every case individually, ensuring they feel understood and cared for.
Dr. Baxter delivers a human-centered approach, focusing on advanced surgical techniques, including robot-assisted total hip and total knee replacement, partial knee replacement, and complex revision arthroplasty, while also managing general orthopedic concerns and fracture care.
Dr. Baxter earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and also attended medical school at the Keck School of Medicine at USC. He completed his Internship and Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at LAC-USC Medical Center. He then pursued a Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at The Arizona Institute for Bone and Joint Disorders. Dr. Baxter is board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has performed hundreds of revisions for complex hip and knee problems such as prosthetic failures, infections, and periprosthetic fractures.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Baxter cherishes time spent with his wife and their three children. He finds joy and recharges outdoors by mountain biking, fly fishing, snowboarding, and road cycling. He also indulges his passion for classic cars through auto restoration, and he enjoys gardening. His recent experiences in medical missions have deeply shaped his perspective on resilience and faith, reinforcing his dedication to providing high-quality care regardless of the setting.
