About Samit Patel, DO
Samit Patel, DO, FACOG, FICS, centers his practice on honesty and listening. He encourages open conversation and questions to help his patients understand their choices when creating a care plan.
Dr. Patel received his bachelor’s degrees in biology and business from Ursinus College in Pennsylvania and his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Washington, and during his 13 years in the U.S. Army, Dr. Patel received his executive MBA in health care from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
Dr. Patel recently earned the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology's (ABOG) Focused Practice Designation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, recognizing his advanced expertise in minimally invasive approaches to treating benign and complex gynecologic conditions. He is one of the only physicians in Colorado Springs to have this designation.
This national designation — developed by ABOG, ACOG, and the ABMS — highlights physicians who perform a high volume of minimally invasive procedures and meet rigorous standards for surgical skill, quality, and ongoing professional development. To achieve this distinction, Dr. Patel completed the required specialized training, documented more than 100 minimally invasive surgical cases in a 12-month period, and passed the comprehensive assessment administered by ABOG/ABMS. This designation reflects his commitment to providing women with the safest, most effective, and least invasive surgical options available.
Outside of work, Dr. Patel spends his time staying active and being with his wife, children and dogs. He is also the player-manager for two softball teams and enjoys skiing, music, good food and watching Philadelphia sports teams.
