CommonSpirit Health Flight for Life is proud to announce a new era in emergency air medical transport. Today, leadership unveiled a newly branded Flight for Life helicopter, signaling a fresh visual identity that reflects the organization's unwavering commitment to life-saving care. This evolution is accompanied by a major multi-layered investment in technology designed to locate and treat patients faster than ever before.
Flight for Life is enhancing its capabilities with the upcoming addition of three brand-new aircraft. These helicopters represent the gold standard in air medical transport, integrating cutting-edge technology to improve safety and operational performance:
- State-of-the-Art Avionics: Enhanced navigation systems provide superior situational awareness, allowing crews to operate with greater precision during night flights and in complex mountainous terrain.
- Enhanced Climate Control: Advanced air conditioning systems ensure a stable environment for patients and optimal working conditions for crews, which is critical for clinical stability.
Along with the addition of three new helicopters, Flight for Life is also implementing two advancements to enhance crew and patient safety and outcomes:
- LifeSeeker Technology: Soon to be operational at bases in Frisco (CommonSpirit St. Anthony Summit Hospital) and Durango (CommonSpirit Mercy Hospital), this revolutionary system detects and locates mobile phone signals—even when the device has no service or is powered off—enabling crews to pinpoint patients in remote areas in seconds.
- Panomax Camera Systems: We have invested in installing 12 high-definition Panamax camera systems in remote locations across Colorado. These long-range, high-definition cameras provide an unmatched aerial perspective, allowing flight crews and dispatchers to identify patients and assess landing zones in challenging or low-visibility terrain with incredible clarity.
